The Great Coastal gate is part of the Tallinn Lower Town city wall. In the Middle Ages the sea shore reached this part of the city wall.

On the right is the Paks Margareeta, The Fat Margaret, a solid canon tower (25 m diameter). On the left: Suure Rannavärava eesvärava külgtorn (tower).
