Die Überreste des nach dem Basler Erdbeben erstellten Palastes sind die ältesten Teile des Rathauses, gefolgt vom spätgotischen Mittelbau mit den drei Bogeneingängen und dem goldenen Türmchen aus dem Jahr 1507.
