Titre: | Gradins «transparents» des Arènes de Nîmes | Prise de: | Place des Arènes, Nîmes, Gard, France. | Description: | Lors des Grandes Invasions de l'Antiquité tardive puis au Moyen Âge durant les périodes d'insécurité, la population se réfugia même dans l'enceinte de l'édifice qui fut alors utilisé comme village fortifié qui contenait deux églises, 220 maisons, ainsi qu'une petite fortification. Bon nombre de gradins furent désossés pour servir de carrière de pierres à l'édification de ces bâtiments. |
