| Titre: | Pont suspendu de Saint-Ilpize de 1879 sur l'Allier | | Prise de: | Château de Saint-Ilpize, Haute-Loire, Auvergne, France. | | Description: | La construction du tablier est confié à Ferdinand Arnodin, qui construira en 1883 un pont semblable un peu en amont à Chilhac. Grace à de nombreuses innovations techniques, cet ingénieur relance la construction de ponts suspendus en France. Il créa sa société à Châteauneuf (Loiret) en 1872 et devient spécialiste des ponts à câble. Il est également inventeur des ponts transbordeurs dont un exemple subsiste à Rochefort en Charentes. |
