| Titel: | Mount Moran, 3842 m, in der Grand Teton Range | | Aufnahmestandort: | Am Südlichen Jackson Lake, bei der Signal Mointain Lodge, Wyoming, USA. | | Beschreibung: | Links hinten: Mount Saint John, 3484m, und Mount Woodring, 3533m. Rechts: Bivouac Peak, 3299 m. Das geologisches Merkmal des Nationalparks ist die Große Stufe: die Tetons sind eine nord-süd gestreckte Bergkette die sich bis 4197 m erheben, wobei die Ebene auf 2063 m liegt. Die Seite, die man beim Durchfahren sieht, ist die sich hebende Stufenfront. Selbst steht man auf dem sich senkenden Erdkrustenteil. Dieser Prozess geht heute noch weiter.
