Der El Capitan ist ein etwa 1000 Meter hoher Monolith im Yosemite-Nationalpark im US-Bundesstaat Kalifornien. Sein Gipfel liegt auf einer Höhe von 2307 m, seine bis zu 1000 m hohen Felswände machen ihn zu einem Anziehungspunkt für Kletterer. Der Name «El Capitan» ist eine Übersetzung des indianischen «To-to-kon oo-lah» ins Spanische.
