| Titel: | Kirche von Vahrn | | Aufnahmestandort: | Am Weg von Elvas (die Kirche ist noch im Bild) zu Kloster Neustift. | | Beschreibung: | Die Pfarrkirche zum Heiligen Georg wurde im 14. Jahrhundert erstmals erwähnt. Ältester Teil der Kirche sind die romanischen Mauern des Hauptschiffes, das dann um die Mitte des 15. Jahrhundert erweitert wurde. Im gesamten Bau wechseln sich spätgotische und barocke Elemente ab. Aus der Zeit der Barockisierung stammen die Fresken des Malers Johann Mitterwurzer im Inneren der Kirche. | | Schlüsselwörter: | Kirche |
