Landing by plane on the Tallinn airport (Tallina lennujaam) gives good views over the Estonian coastline and the city centre of the medieval Tallinn. Then a walk through the Russian market near the railway station.

The smaller islands in the front are: Saarnaki, Kaevatsi laid and Heinlaid. The rounder one on the right is called Vohilaid. Hiiumaa is the second largest island of Estonia after Saaremaa. The island's topography is low and flat. The north coast has many beaches. Human settlements are located in coastal areas, the center is covered by inhabited woods.
