Jahrhundert erbaute pisanische Wehrturm Torre dei Appiani, an dem sich die Kaimauer anschliesst, die den Hafen vor Wellen schützt. Der Turm war bereits auf einer Karte von Cristoforo Buondelmonti aus dem Jahr 1420 als Torre di Marciana eingezeichnet.
