Titre: | Ruines de Petra Castellana | Prise de: | Tour du Roc, à Petra Castellana, Castellane, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, France. | Description: | Pour se protéger des invasions, l’habitat se déplace au sommet du Roc qui domine la vallée du Verdon, puis descend un peu à flanc de montagne sur les terrasses bordant le Roc. Certains vestiges de ce troisième site de Castellane, nommé Sinaca en 813 (actuellement nommé Petra Castellana) sont encore visibles. Au début du 9e siècle, tout le terroir environnant n'était peuplé que de 84 habitants. Pour des questions pratiques, les habitants s'installent ensuite au pied du Roc, dans le fond de la vallée. |
